Because what everyone's said about how much fun it is wouldn't do much for me if they were just guessing the controls, ^_^;

As Sturm said, if you know katakana it's easier, and you'll have a bit more knowledge about what's going on. But for most major story events, a banner with English will appear at the top of the screen saying what just happened.

The controls are really easy to figure out. And you can always ask us for help with gameplay-related things if need be.

Since it's Elena, she can't counter. ... And yet I won. The Assassin entered the battle in rage (damn HIGH status), and since Assassins are immune to dark... That means no damage for Elena. Well, since I had lost the previous two unions, I had full gauge. So I waited, and right before the Assassin used Sandstorm, I activated Shield Barrier, so I was shielded from the attack. Then, I charged the single percent necessary, and shielded almost until the Assassin reentered rage mode. Then I survived until then. Then, just before it got it's Max again, I killed it. >_> Sorry. I found it awesome. Yumina's Diary (ユミナの日記). It puts LUK up by 4, and only lasts one battle, but the effect is what counts: No Retreat Penalty. Meaning, when you die, you do not get Zero Reset (all your EXP removed). Well, I suppose it's really awesome if you have to sacrifice a unit. Which does occur. At least in my game where I take the easiest route possible, which sometimes requires "sacrifices."
